Today we were joined by NBC-2 reporter, Linh Bui, who will be running a story on us tonight about how SunStream is remaining proactive by organizing an Oil Spill committee that meets weekly. The Committee includes members of the SunStream Executive team as well as representation from all departments within the company. Check out what today’s beachgoers had to say!

July 2nd, 2010SunStream would like to congratulate employee Margie McGlynn for receiving a Top Tourism Employee Honors for being a Key Player on ‘Team Paradise.’ Margie’s dedication to Collier County and SunStream Hotels & Resorts has earned her the Award for Outstanding Hotel Sales Employee! This is Margie’s third win in this category having previously earned the award in 2006 and 2007!
2010 marked the eighth annual Collier County Tourism Week celebration where the contribution of the area’s hardworking hospitality employees is recognized. Jack Wert, executive director for the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), stressed the importance of tourism in the area. He stated, “This past year was a tough one for travel and tourism everywhere, and with this event we are able to recognize those top performing employees that make our destination such a memorable and welcoming place for people to come and find some much needed relaxation and rejuvenation.”
Margie also earned the 2010 Outstanding Volunteer Award by the Downtown Naples Association! Margie is an active board member with the group and in their words is, “a heck of a worker bee!”
We are very proud of Margie for her work on behalf of Naples and especially Sunstream! With Margie’s energy and dedication, she has become a key individual to the business. Great job Margie!

Oil Spill in relation to our beautiful Southwest Florida Beaches
What are your plans this 4th of July? Don’t let fear of the oil stop you from visiting the beautiful beaches of Southwest Florida. Our beaches are as clean and as beautiful as ever!
In a recent article published by the NOAA, there have been no confirmed observations of oil from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill near South Florida. Our Southwest Florida Beaches are 600 miles from the wellhead. If a significant amount of surface oil were to enter the Loop Current and begin to move toward the Florida Straits, responders would be able to see it, predict its movement, notify states and coastal communities, and help guide preparedness, response and cleanup efforts.

SunStream’s Clean Beach Guarantee promises that our Hotels & Resorts located in Southwest Florida will be oil and tar free during our guests stay. In the unlikely event that the beaches of Lee & Collier County are officially closed by Federal, State or Local authorities or if health conditions are compromised, SunStream has made a decision to take a proactive step in alleviating guest concern.
If the beaches become threatened during your stay and you wish to leave, you will be entitled to a prorated refund for the remaining nights of your stay or the ability to rebook within 2 years of your cancellation date with no penalties.
If the official closure takes place within 72 hours of your stay, SunStream will offer a full refund of room fees, taxes and resort fee if applicable, or you can rebook your stay anytime within 2 years of your cancellation date with no penalties.
